Yeah I did, I had just washed her too. I went into town and in a retail car park this happened, it's a narrow turn to get out and a Sunday driver was determined not to give me room to get the RO nose round. This is the outcome.

Looks like you need to talk with the boy at Newburgh - quick before the salt on the road makes it worse

Ouch! The kerbs in Union Sq multi storey give me the jitters too. The wheel guy at Newburgh is pretty good, used him a few years back. I'm on the verge (still) of refurb & paint on all 4 for the 8, was thinking of black on black but undecided still.

I spoke to Alex at the weekend there and he has sent the guys number over to me to get a quote. I also contacted a guy that I've used in the past called Kev Brown from Smart Techniques who is going to have a look also and he has always provided an excellent job with these wheels.

I use Kumho on both the Monaro and the Cavalier Turbo, in fact I did the entire Modball Rally plus a track day in Valencia on them and they have always delivered a great performance in my opinion. They aren't a high end maximum performance tyre but for the driving that I do including my enthusiastic road runs they have always been excellent.

That said I have recently spoken to the Fish and they have suggested an alternative for the Monaro and I'm going to give them a go instead and see if the performance is any better. The alternative is a Michelin Pilot Sport.

I understand exactly what you mean, that multistory is just horrible, let us not forget trying to exit NCP on Shiprow...just WOW to whoever invented that system.

I am going to get these all refurbed as the current paint job is just shocking and can't take even a light impact let along this kerb job. The Wheel Specialist want £380 for all four in anthracite which is the colour they are at the moment and you can leave the car there. PPS coatings in Inverurie can powder coat them but they need just the wheels with no tyres and I have no spare wheels to put on the Ro so I can't really do that, plus the expensive of having tyres taken on and off and rebalanced.

Joy!

Thanks

Had pilot sports on my old Monaro, you won't be disappointed smile

Chips plus on the edge of blackburn can do wheel painting. Can give you a spare set of vxr8 alloys to borrow if required

Worth trying to haggle? TWS always do Christmas promos that would shave > £100 off that.

I had my VXR8 wheels done in smoked chrome at the Cumbernauld branch last year and was extremely happy. Some pics and details towards the end of this thread
