Have heard a lot about Thunder Road but not entirely sure what it actually is. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

PAH250 found that frustrating (as his limiter had inadvertently been reinstated). Have a word with Monkfish, and get a price for removing the limiter. smile

Depending on how things go I may re-instate my dialogue with Ringram before then wink

How many runs do you get on average during the event?

Normaly five recorded runs and as many as you can get in unrecorded.

Yes and where people that spend huge amounts on FI realise that NA cars with just a decent tune and a cam are punching well above their weight!!!!

Here's a good vid from inside the cockpit of M11 MFP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLOnpDAwfI0

A bit tongue in cheek, but 100% this! My personal experience of this event is that NA guys go away happy and FI guys go away with unanswered questions.
Having said that, Emma, Gareth's and GaryH's achievements are not to be sniffed at smile

I think that those who have bought packages are often surprised that the package doesn't fare as well as the unique and well thought out builds - when they have no right to expect more. A package has to be conservative, or the supplier would end up with people trying to break it and make a claim.

On the other hand, some packages surprise, as they seem to have hit a sweet spot. I remember when 007s Monaro was on the rollers at SRR in 2009. Nobody expected the results, yet that was a standard car with bolt-ons. Similarly why the hell does Liam's Monaro go as quick as it does? Just to redress the balance, R8black's car did very well for a drive-in, drive-out package for the N/A brigade.

I admire Leatherman for what he achieved by a cam, headers and tune, but paying workshop rates here and fiddling with the tune would soon bump up the price. He's testament to what you can do if you take the time to DIY and fettle. B|

Completely agree with that.

I am by no means knocking FI- I'm genuinely looking forward to what a couple of the Yorkshire guys can do next year (I believe they both will have amazing setups).

What the hell, it's a great day out for all smile
