I will just keep it as is, not much point raising the limiter looking at the results.
Start saving now, as after the event you will want more power, and the limiter removed. hehe

Last year there was 51 signups, doesn't look close to that number yet...

Best bet would be to PM Dougie or contact Javelin smile

I'm currently signed up to drive somebody else's car. If the booking closes and you are stuck you could have my slot. I'm just as happy with some pax runs in the afternoon biggrin

We are not permitted to bring US or Euro market GM vehicles. No chance whatsoever a Nissan Sunny will run at TR.

There are a few other options. Race the Runway (Prestwick Airport) is an annual event, although looking at the speeds vs time I'm unconvinced this is an accurately measured standing mile. If enough badgering was done It's possible Fighting Torque (Javelin) could be resurrected at the mile distance, rather than 7/8.

Straightliners also do some long course speed trials, althought they seem to be principally for motorbikes.

The No1 position at Fighting Torque is 201.8 mph (GTR), versus 201.96 for Thunder Road (Granada 2.8i).

I'm guessing you've got the day off from pizza deliveries and mini-cabbing then? hehe

It's a shame, I know - but as Vx not only underwrite the day, but also subsidise it, I feel privileged to be allowed to run under the Aussie banner. I think the reason why Vx are strict about what is or isn't allowed, is that Chevrolet UK were giving the option of their customers playing if the costs were shared, but decided that Camaro and Corvette owners wouldn't be interested rofl so wouldn't chip in. rolleyes

Shame Chevy are clearly cheapskates and no fun. Good for Dougie and the VX guys to be supporting the brand so well. Doesn't help me as id like to have seen how the GTR goes against some of the bigger hp V8s similar to my old one. I might come along to watch anyway, see some of fun and frolicking!

It just shows that the other models (and management) are still Daewoo under the skin. wink

That's a cheap shot Gary, You cant blame the guys at VXR (who have done a brilliant job for us over the years rewarding us for brand loyalty) because you left the family and just want to come along and piss on their party.

Hey Gareth, I thought I said Dougie and the VX guys were doing a great job supporting the brand and only in reference to Arafs comment on Chevy not chipping in I said that was poor and a shame for owners of those cars who might want to come along for some fun.

I have no axe to grind at all about VX, I think they do a great job. I might have left the brand but still think the big v8 bruisers and the forum are great. Saying that the forum seems to have a different dynamic than it did a few years back when I had the Wortec Carbon edition as my first VXR8, but still an excellent font of knowledge nonetheless.

Hopefully I'll make it to TR as a spectator as should be a good day for sure.

Hopefully you will. cool Remember that you'll need to pre-book the supporters ticket at £5, but that does include lunch. smile
