That's a cheap shot Gary, You cant blame the guys at VXR (who have done a brilliant job for us over the years rewarding us
Hey Gareth, I thought I said Dougie and the VX guys were doing a great job supporting the brand and only in reference to Arafs comment on Chevy not chipping in I said that was poor and a shame for owners of those cars who might want to come along for some fun.

I have no axe to grind at all about VX, I think they do a great job. I might have left the brand but still think the big v8 bruisers and the forum are great. Saying that the forum seems to have a different dynamic than it did a few years back when I had the Wortec Carbon edition as my first VXR8, but still an excellent font of knowledge nonetheless.

Hopefully I'll make it to TR as a spectator as should be a good day for sure.

pah250, you wrote this last year. Was this dash indicated, or GPS verified speed?

My limiting factor was without a doubt the 155mph factory speed limiter. Put simply, I reached an indicated 159/160mph on just about every run at aprox 2 thirds of the way down the runway, and then it simply refused to accelerate for the final 3rd.
I'm trying to work out if our Ute is limited. scratchchin

And a private road. It doesn't seem to go above 70 at the moment. wink

This was the dash indicated speed going by the digital centre speedo. The car would just about hit 160, then it throttled its self back and settled at an indicated 155mph. The speed as recorded by the Javelin speed trap were usually in the region of 1 or 2mph under the speedo reading as I passed the line.

ringram read my map on the day and confirmed that the speed limiter was indeed set at 155mph.

Thanks. Can't say that I'd be watching the speedo at those sort of speeds, but theoretically, a sat nav could record an indicated 159 on a long downhill stretch of private road, and I still wouldn't know if the limiter was in place then.

My thinking is that as standard, the Ute probably wouldn't achieve 155mph, so would they bother adding the speed limiter to the map?

Can't you just plug it in with the relevant equipment and check?

Looking forward to this, although I've had to put the silencers back in otherwise the noise test would have been a major issue for me!
