What was it, 800 Monaros at the start? Would that be nearly 250 of the aging machines have rusted away?

If I am correct that only checks taxed vehicles:
CV8 = 276 taxed
CV8 = 55 sorned
VXR = 281 taxed
VXR = 80 sorned
Total = 692

VXR8 (man) = 309 taxed
VXR8 (man) = 24 sorned
VXR8 (auto) = 177 taxed
VXR8 (auto) 13 sorned
VXR8 GTS = 21 taxed
VXR8 GTS = 2 sorned

I did contact the guy I sold my vxr500 to, in the hope of buying it back.... but he had shipped it back home to australia so can scratch 1 off those 15

I was under the impression that 800 Monaro's were sold:

but How Many Left suggests that by Q4 of 2007 the high point of 723 Monaro's taxed or SORNed was reached (with 692 left as at Q4 of 2014). What accounts for the discrepancy? Or were 723 only ever sold?
