whirring noise

Hi I've just picked up my VXR8 and have noticed a whirring noise in 6th when increasing the revs. Anyone have any ideas what this is?

From time to time my Monaro will make a whirring noise in all gears on acceleration, gets quicker with revs. I've changed the gearbox oil but it made no difference.

It's been doing this for three years, over 20k miles and never got any worse.

Unless it's really noticeable, gets worse or becomes difficult to shift I wouldn't worry too much.

You need to fit a louder exhaust.
