Is it safe, though?

Should be seeing as you can overdrive the supercharger safely. Just seals off the recirc valve properly when closed.

Just had a look and reckon it could be done with a 10mm ring spanner in less than 5 minutes...

I am going to the VXRO rolling road day and have enquired as to whether Rabbid would let me do this between two runs to see if there is a marked difference.

Will do, rabbid is ok with it as long as I can do the change quickly as he is a bit time limited due to numbers. What do I care if a Corsa or two don't get on the rollers hehe

Not a successful run in the end. I managed to adjust the wrong way and ended up totally opening the valve. Have since done it properly and just by feel can tell it is improved. Can also now hear some of the supercharger whine biggrin

Just read your comments on the Oz forum. If you had run 537 bhp "unfiddled", does adjusting correctly bring it closer to its claimed 576bhp?

What did you do to adjust it incorrectly, supposedly more open?

Seeing as I got the dyno record for that dyno, not sure how accurate that 537 as a true value was tbh, just wanted comparisons really. Plus, by that point the car had been on the dyno for quite a while due to operator error so was probably fairly heat soaked. But yeah, the way I adjusted it opened the valve completely.

Cool, so there might be me with a 10mm spanner tampering in the engine bay smile

Ok, so we did it on both cars. On the white one it goes up to 60kpa and on mine goes up to 58kpa? This is me looking at the lower right hand side gauge on the centre console. It also felt slower than usual.

When modified correctly, should see about 65+kpa on the EDI. Can you make the Ely meet next week? Can check it for you if you want smile

It is the one you are looking at.

Ely meet is a week on Saturday, thread is somewhere in HSV&M, will post in it to bring it to the top smile

Oh, ok that then read as posted above. I think maybe I did not tilt the valve the right amount. I will be checking again tomorrow evening. And will have a read on the Ely meet now smile

So I checked it a couple more times. And adjusted it again and again. 1mm from the set screw and the whole thing twisted anticlockwise. 59kpa is all I am getting. Such simple mod can't be that difficult, surely. I guess I will wait three years, then buy the WPUK kit.
