Are like buses in Florida! I've spent 8 days here and seen none. I spend 30 minutes at Cape Canaveral Air Force Base watching the Falcon9 rocket launch (which was very cool ) and see two! Maybe it was a misconception on my part, but I always thought there would be loads of them around?!

Nah they didn't sell very well over there all things considered. They were too bland to attract a new audience, and the GTO purists didn't think it was a 'real' GTO so didn't much want it either. Add in the fact that from the dealer they aren't 'great' at drag racing because of the IRS, and it wasn't going to win on Sunday, sell on Monday any time soon either!

I had this when I was in Florida in February. Saw two within a few hours one day, and no more for the rest of the week. Camaros and Mustangs are more common than Focus' though!

Well they sold about 40,000, but that was not a sales success in US terms, and is a drop in the ocean in terms of the 250 million or so cars in the US, so you'll hardly see them on every street corner.

It does seem to have a cult following, though, and often features in "Top 10 bargain performance cars" lists.

Interesting analysis of the GTO, its relative sales failure, and possible future classic status here:

Spent 3 weeks in California, Nevada and Arizona last year and only saw 2. Similar expectations to the OP, was quite disappointing!

That makes sense guys, cheers smile

I have to say, the new Mustang looks good in pretty much all colours (apart from silver and black).

I found the same thing when I was in Australia earlier this year.... expected every other car to be a Monaro, but in truth there are very few on the roads.

Every other 'car' is in fact a Ute over there!
