Nah they didn't sell very well over there all things considered. They were too bland to attract a new audience, and the GTO purists didn't think it was a 'real' GTO so didn't much want it either. Add in the fact that from the dealer they aren't 'great' at drag racing because of the IRS, and it wasn't going to win on Sunday, sell on Monday any time soon either!Well they sold about 40,000, but that was not a sales success in US terms, and is a drop in the ocean in terms of the 250 million or so cars in the US, so you'll hardly see them on every street corner.
It does seem to have a cult following, though, and often features in "Top 10 bargain performance cars" lists.
