... Because although the rear vauxhall boot badge has not got any locating pins, the boot lid itself has locating holes. Not sure about the bonnet, but for now an attempt has been prevented.

Then would that suggest, if you are thinking of putting on HSV badges, those will have locating pins?

If de-badging completly, then it would need some work doing !! frown

Apparently, HSV rear emblem features locating pins on it. Hence the holes on the bootlid. The car is still at the dealer's, but I asked them not to chance it with the front bonnet badge in case that were to reveal similar thing. I will do some digging and maybe find out if I can remove safely the bonnet badge.

I have not even got the car yet, but already have a list of works it needs doing smile

That will tie up with what Dougie Mc said about the rear badge he was not sure if it was pinned but he thought there might be holes there. I am thinking of removing the front badge on my GenF replacing the rear badge with a Holden one changing the VXR8 badge for a GTS and replacing the centre caps with Holden ones

Please, let me know once finished. It would be good to know if the bonnet one has got any pins / holes.

I don't think there are holes in the bonnet. HSV and Holden use the same panel and there are no holes in either of my Commodores.

I'll check when I'm back at work on Monday.

On E1 there are no holes on the boot lid. They changed that. I only hope the front badge can be safely removed.

He'll let you know, once Slaters get back to him - as they're trying to do it to a black one at the moment. hehe

Thanks for that Dougie I have just taken the Griffin off the front of my car it looks a lot better now. My impression was a bit of an after thought and spoilled the lines of the car. If anyone with a new or newish GenF is is thinking of doing the same do it sooner rather than later especially if you have a car that could be prone to fading. And also any grit that gets caught behind the badge may scratch the paint as you remove it. The angle of the badge could be a dirt trap.
