Is my car too slow?
Discussion
Hi,
So I was driving on a dual carriageway the other night. Scirocco R comes right behind me. A few pedal to the medal accelearations in 3rd proved he was no slower. I was disappointed... Gen F @585bhp vs Roco R with 300 bhp at most if remapped...
Or is there something wrong with my car? Messed with the bypass valve. No matter how I adjust it, it always boosts up to 59kpa. Unlike others' that see 65kpa after the alteration.
Also, the car feels a bit juddery when cold (not so much misfiring, I hope). When warm it is better. Also, sudden stumping on the accelerator when at speed around 1500revs, and it gives a short hesitation, and then it goes.
New, unmodified Gen-F. Time to visit the dealer?
Thanks
Bart

Laws of physics. Mine has over 800hp and I've had a Golf R keep up to almost 100mph. You are traction limited in a heavy car so no there is nothing wrong with it. Over 100mph you will bugger off into the distance right up to 180mph where your friend in the Scirocco will be nowhere to be seen. If you want go anywhere fast, you need a Nissan GTR with about 600hp.
My Sti forester with about 320 bhp v Maloo about 500 there is probably nothing In it till about 80 after that Maloo would be quicker , even though Forster is very quick , I had an Aston Martin vantage only just passing the Foz on a track day , forester is only 1450 kg v Maloo about 1700 kg , if Maloo or I go on a big diet plus Maloo gets 4 wheel drive that would be interesting , Monaro tuned but still NA , v Sti Impreza nothing much in it but as soon as 80 mph crops up the extra grunt meant Monaro was quicker

But any clue as to the slight vibration under very light load when cold?
That could be a plug or lead breaking down.Just to cheer you up more, our old VXR8 started missing, then 200 miles later the PCM packed up.
But you're under warranty.
Putting it into context , cars look and sound (can't beat v8 noise ) very cool Monaro vxr8 or ute , and compared to most cars on the road even in standard form as a cv8 they are not slow , you can't expect to be the fastest car out there even if that would be nice , there is more to go wrong on more technical cars , and some thing like a new gtr is an expensive car to run , the fuel would probably be the same but servicing on a gtr is apparently very expensive , more gearbox problems than ever on a Monaro or vxr8 and its 25 k £ for a new box , if I wanted an out and out toy I have to be honest I'm tempted by an aerial atom but I don't have a budget for one lol
My brother has a scirocco R and they're very quick. It's so effortless, point it in the right direction, plant your foot an your away. If I floor mine in 1st I spin the wheels and by that point he's already got an advantage, throw in my manual with standard shifter its no match to the fancy DSG he has. Although his cost a good chunk more than my Monaro and when he drove mine he was scared of it so that'll do for me
