This is almost certainly the latch hook in the boot. You can access the boot by pulling the emergency cord behind the drivers side rear headrest. If that doesn't work you're fked. You'll need a new actuator and link with the hook on the end, note the 05 version DOES NOT fit, needs to be an 04 version. This happened on my car and was fixed easy enough Brett had an 04 actuator he sent me.

Did your emergency cord work then?

Someone on (I think) ls1gto ended up cutting a hole behind the number plate to get it. I think I'd be tempted to go in through the rear bulkhead (assuming I couldn't reach through the sub holes).

Not sure - although I guess a replacement boot may be preferable to holing your bulkhead (if that's even an option, and depending on how you're inclined). Here's the thread I was talking about.

Not sure mate. You might want to make a call to Monkfish or neil see if they have any ideas maybe an Internet search might show something.

The rear subs may be your next option. They mount from above. Also there is a fairly large hole at the bottom of the bulkhead covered in a piece of boot trim that runs across the car. Both are big enough to get an arm in.

The link I gave said they tried that to no avail. stty situation...I would work the boot like Fonzie working the jukebox until I was 100% sure the boot wouldn't release, then maybe order a CF boot hehe

Mine did the same recently. It was the small shaft from the actuator to the lock had snapped. I made a new one from a mountain bike spoke!!! Was an easy fix but you obviously need to get the boot open first 😕 unfortunately I can't help you with that bit. Good luck.
