Waiting for a quote,, probs around 1K + fitting.. ?
Presumably the kit needs adapting to fit VXR8/Monaro? Who is doing that development/testing & who will ultimately offer this & fit it?

I'll be interested if Monkfish can resell and fit it.
They have there own installer

Hey guy's,

A friend of mine pointed me to this forum, I am the creator of the Forced Induction Interchiller, if you have any questions please fire away.
In regards to the kit previously offered from Badcat Jags, Graham has been in contact with us and we are looking forward to working with him in the future.

In terms of the Monaro kit, it's all possible we just need to collect some information in regards to line sizes and connection points, the older kits that Graham was using previously meant you had to cut into the AC metal line and clamp down on it, we are just unwilling to do this as it might leak and there are far better ways of adapting into the system.

So any questions just ask.

Cheers Kirk

Hi Kirk

I think a few of us are interested, I certainly am! Was a kit ever designed for the 2005 Pontiac GTO? Monaro is essentially the same car but with the steering wheel on the correct side wink

It's totally possible to integrate into any car that runs an AC system it just all depends how you want to go about doing it.

We were recently asked to provide a clamp style system for the hardlines for the monaro and simply put whilst it may work the question remains for how long will it work, given the right hot conditions the AC system can see 400psi + so we are not going to put our names on something like that.

Thats leaves us with 2 options plug into the system correctly with CNC connections or T-piece into the rubber hose sections.

So far from what I have seen from the pictures I have been able to gather is that we can plug into the receiver drier that is in front of the condenser this is a threaded connections so it's very easy, the hardest part is the suction line (thicker of the 2 hoses) there doesn't appear to be many connections points on this line.

What we need from here is pictures of the connections points, this will show if it is possible with current fittings we have already available or where the rubber hose section on this line is located, we then do a simply T-piece on that section and the system will be done.

If some of you guys can provide photos and information I really don't see it taking very long to have a kit figured out for the monaro.
I previously had a GTO Monaro, see here: http://www.lsxtv.com/news/video-lsx454-powered-aus...

If you can help with pictures and info please email

For those interested in the kit for the Monaro, I've had a good look at the AC system on a VY Holden last week (exact same AC system), it is 100% possible to plug into the AC system, we have thought of a special way of doing it which is quick and easy, we do need 1 person to go first so we can figure out AC Line lengths and chiller mounting locations.

So when someone is ready please get in touch.

Nominate Monkfish. If you measure it, they will build it and we will buy it. Put my name down for one smile

Is there enough "chill" capacity built into the system to last a 200mph attempt at vmax or alike,
considering the a/c will turn off after 4,800rpm, and not re-start until 4,450rpm. Presumably these
limits are set to protect the a/c compressor ?

I guess that depends how long it takes you to get to 200mph, and how much heat you need to get rid of.

you simply need to calculate your pump speed, how long it will take you to race the mile race etc and put a reservoir in that will last the distance that you need.

Has anyone stepped forward to do this yet? I would but my 'firsts' have cost me dearly in the past.

Sorry if I'm being thick....paperbag
But as my Harrop 112 is non intercooled do you need an intercooler first to be able to connect or use this system

Yes. It cools the water in the charge cooler circuit. If you don't have one it cannot do that.

True but then Roger has bills to pay too. Of course, if this were to be done as a loss leader for an agreed, fixed fee I might donate my car for the greater good smile

My appetite for blowing thousands on cars has waned over the years.

Plenty of people on the HSV forum have it now, go look on there.

Here are some reviews: http://www.hsvforum.com.au/showthread.php?15040-Fo...
http://www.hsvforum.com.au/showthread.php?15005-Fo...

Yesterday we finished our mods on our VF GTS and did a before/after dyno pull with and without the chiller.
A gain of 47.6rwhp on 98 fuel when the ambient was 32c, IAT2 peaked at 41c it would have been even lower but we have not had a chance to make a reservoir or put our faster intercooler pump on yet, IAT2 started at 16c as we were not bypassing the front heat exchanger so it would have started around 5c if we had a reservoir built, so there is more in it and this blower is still the 1900LSA blower not ported and with the stock throttle body.

You can see the IAT2 here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPUD6sLfFq0

You can also see in this customers car being speed tested how long it takes to cool down from full operating temps without the chiller (note the AC compressor is on a 30sec delay after being switched on)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydax3oIz9cA

In another customers car you can see a simulated quarter mile run, this car is manual so the IAT2 is about 10c less than an auto at the 400m mark since he is on/off the throttle where as an auto is always on the throttle.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCG-kwkVEH0

This was my car stock on a 36c day, simulated quarter mile run about 2:30sec into the video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGAyIYlCXvY

Does it work?......ahh yeah

Maybe Mf1 can tell you if this is similar to what PhilW had on his s/c LSA VXR8???
