My main key for the cat has just stopped working. And last night when i lifted wrong key the alarm went off so car is defo not reading key.

So my question is will it just be the battery in fob?

Key has lasted about7 years so cant complain

there selaed keys so you cant open them to access the bettery..

one option is to open the car with the good key and clean the silver rign around the ignation and then start the car with the good key and then turn the car off and quickly start with the bad key, it should recharge

Hi , it would be great if battery did recharge but it does not , you can easily change the battery in the fob but you need a new fob and obviously a new battery , if you look on page 5 of the FAQs you will see a write up on it

I have changed over the plastic body before as my main key has Holden emblem on the back of it so i might just do that again and change battery or try the key in the ignition see if it charges.

If a battery is not used it seems to gain more power , the battery does not charge up , it's just a standard battery and there is nothing in the key fob or ignition area to help it charge ,,,, some say .... And it seems to work touch the fob to you chin as you press the button it seems to boost the signal , but unless electronics in the fob are broken a pop to a watch shop or eBay and grab a battery with the tabs and a quich bit of soldering and job done , getting into the car I've heard use key in drivers lock then key in the ignition should work
