Guessing I can't re-use them? Crank looks likes it's beyond a 30-thou grind too...





Amazingly, one shell was almost entirely under the other. The con-rod felt like it could move a few millimetres. Can't imagine why anyone would have carried on driving.

You'd be surprised what will clean up with a re-grind.

But I'd say there is no chance the rod could be re-used. If the bearing has spun even once in the cap, do not try and re-use the rod, and cracked cap rods cannot even be re-sized.

You could rebuild it and put a new bearings in the rod, but it will fail within a short period of time

Not rebuilding this rotating assembly. It'll all go in a box and then end up in the bin one day. Maybe find a seasoned 4.00 stroker going in this LS1 ;-)
