Hi All, With a wedding looming and family friendly diesel cars on the fiancées agenda man maths prevailed and I ordered factory fresh GT86 in the following spec;
· 2015 GT86 Spec
· Starlight Blue
· Manual Transmission
· Half Leather/Half Alcantara heated seats
· Spoiler

Few pics after collection

So far the run in period has been pretty good with a weekend in Salisbury and then Goodwood to put the chassis to work. Even capped at 4k rpm you still get to feel the back end wriggle out of tight bends and roundabouts and is ridiculously more involving than my previous TT V6. Cant wait to get those first 1,000 miles out the way to start using all those revs!

You might have picked up by now the spoiler isn't fitted as the dealer did a great job of not ordering it with the car. However they did sort it out and ship one out as they knew it was their mistake so it is now taking pride of place on my dining room table. Instead of fitting it I'm going to get something better which leads nicely onto the tweaks I've got planned although they are more likely to be in next year sorting out the small details and my pet hates whilst maintaining a flexible fast road car.

Love the colour; my personal preference. I've been waiting for the prices of the used ones to drop a bit but they seem to be holding their value well. I guess they are still relatively rare, at least according to how many left.

I'll be interested to see the new spoiler- I actually like the face-lift spoilless ones. A bit more understated.

Drool. Want one. This and the F type are the only new cars that have made me sit up and go "wow" for years. That one of them is affordable is a bonus.

Seriously considering one of these, never seen this colour before it looks lovely.

There is a lot said about these being underpowered, so I will be interested to hear from an actual owner if that is the case? I guess I will have to wait :-)

I love the colour too.

The cosworth upgrade looks pretty awesome (sub 5 secs 0-60) but, eveb though this may go against the PH massive, speed isnt everything. It is def a car that makes you smile when you drive. Ok, a polo gti may be quicker but it is boring in comparison. Gt86 / brz is a proper drivers car. There, I said it.

Massively agree. Although neither is affordable for me at the moment.

I am also in the spoilerless camp. Think it looks much better. Also think they suit a bit wider wheel and tyre combo.

Have long had my eye on one of these, still a bit of a wait before they drop into my price range methinks!

I'd love one, first thing I'd do though...

Excellent, I've got a huge soft spot for these cars. I wasn't sure about the colour at first but the more I look at it, the more I like it.

Never seen these, but they're a must IMHO (seen others but these are the best I've come across). The standard lights are truly awful!

Which would spoil the whole point of the car......

I disagree.

Yes the fact they can be quite fun and slideable is one aspect, but a nice nimble RWD chassis with plenty of grip can be just as satisfying.

Great to see some positive comments, thanks. As for the colour the GT86 was originally released in blue and a few months back with the 2016 spec they changed the blue to be a warmer hue which on bright days looks purple.

I will definitely add more on the power question after I’ve racked up a few miles as it was always in the back of my mind especially after my first test drive which was literally around the block and left me less than impressed. Fast forward 6 months and I was in a better position to buy and thought id try for a longer test drive at another dealer. We went down every type of road id typically drive and that was it, I didn’t even make it to the Nissan and Subaru dealers had scheduled in for the same day.

Blayney – i was surprised to see that wasn’t a link to the Avo turbo kit. The lights are one of my pet hates as well with too much chrome and Lexusness so i’ll be looking into these or possibly the Tom’s units.

I have one of these on my list, and that is a lovely colour. She looks fantastic.

I would leave the spoiler wherever it is now, but the replacement lights linked above looked good.

Having not driven one I'm not qualified to say it needs a turbo! But I do have eyes so I know it needs new lights! wink

Just because of the noise I'd be buying the cosworth (supercharger?) kit if I wanted more power!

Anyways lovely car!

Lovely Colour! I picked up mine (3 yrs old, mind) a few weeks back and I'm loving it.

About the spoiler, my friend actually works at the dealers. Apparently the Spoiler changed as a "Delete" Option, however for some reason Toyota has a shortage of spoilers, which may be what actually happened with you...?

Anyway, enjoy it mate. I know I am!

I have a couple of sets of rear lights I don't use. I'll see if I can dig out some photos when they were fitted.

ETA. Forgot to say, congratulations. You'll enjoy every minute.

I'm tempted to try using Lamni-x, or a similar Red Tinting film to wrap the standard rear lights. Just because the aftermarket ones are so expensive!

... and if you're like me you may be disappointed despite forking out north of £300. Twice. paperbag

I've spent a few bob tweaking but ultimately, most of it was wasted or unwarranted. Please, think long and hard before you make any mods, you may regret it. They're a great drive as they are.
