Not mine, but for sale locally. I'm more than happy to have a look for anyone seriously interested, and report back.
I know there are some VX enthusiasts on here, and I'm guessing that if it goes really cheaply, it will sadly end its days as a drift car.

Police prototype !!! Yeah all police cars have manual sunroofs. The power on that would not have been much more than the 3.0 24v GM engine.
The Irmscher 4.0 version was 300bhp. So whats the point in doing this supposed police prototype with less power and more weight
I have heard of this car before and its story then was all a bit iffy. It was just the seller's word

That's more than fair. I couldn't see the merit in fitting a Jag engine in a Vx, when a Jag engine in a Jag, and mated to a manual gearbox would make more sense, but took the ad at face value.The Irmscher 4.0 version was 300bhp. Maybe drifting at Lydden will be a fitting end for it.
This has come up in conversation on ABS. Jag block would probably be ally so lighter than the standard GM block & rated at approx. 245bhp so approx. 40 up on a 24v but torque figures for the Jag lump is nigh on 80ft/lbs higher. Yeah its a one off but needs some tlc as advertised but as to value ....

I actually know this car. The year that we had Thunder Road in the east midlands we stayed in a nearby hotel. As we pulled into the carpark I saw a car with a tarp over it and just showing was the TWR badge.
The owner of the Hotel was a former RAF pilot from the base where we were racing and had owned the car for the last ten year or so. His main interest was Caterhams but he ran the car occasionally. He claimed it handled well for such a large car but that in truth it wasn't nearly as quick as he had hoped. I think he had been hoping for Lotus Carlton performance and really only got quick exec saloon performance.
The car does indeed have a slightly tuned version of the 4 litre straight six from the face lifted jaguar XJS mated to the rather poor manual gearbox that Jaguar occasionally wheeled out on special order. Neither the engine nor gearbox are a great fit to a car that they were not designed for, leaving no room for luxuaries like air con and adequate engine cooling.
The car is essentially a curiosity. It was put together as a police intercepter at the time when the thought of buying foreign made police cars would have had the Daily Mail in a lather. Sadly it was too expensive and didn't really work. The arrival of the Volvo 850T killed it stone dead.
In short the car is genuine, its just not very good. Only really a good buy if you collect weird Vauxhalls or TWR products.
