That's £160 a month for a brand new 3.6 V6.

I'm not trying to be a cock but what is significant about the price?

To UK eyes it's staggeringly cheap.

It's the v6 though. Every time you see a V8 you will have buyers remorse.

And that is lease, finance is 372 at 72 months.

Granted, but US prices are often cheaper in in dollars than it is for us in pounds. For instance a brand new Mustang in the UK fully specced up with all the options in the UK comes to over $55,000 equivalent.

An we don't even get the option of Recaro's, or which rear diff ratio we want.

Go on the Ford UK site and build a Mustang. It'll surprise you how much they cost and how little is on the options list. The options list in the UK is, shaker sound system upgrade, climate, parking sensors and which colour you want it in. That's it, we do get the performance package as standard. However the same spec car in the US works out around $11,000 cheaper.

With 3 grand down, and invariably it'll exclude tax and a bunch of other fees. They're still cheap, but the V6 is garbage and it's still a lease.

But yep, motoring is seriously affordable over here smile

Of course a V8 is better but to call the V6 "garbage" is a little unfair - we have one on hire and as far as I can tell a very good car to drive and looks fabulous. Much rather drive a "garbage" Dodge than a bland Japanese, Korean or European slog box that you see everyday in the UK.

Ah yes I can see now why you call the V6 "garbage" after checking out your current fleet - wish we could all afford a Challenger Hellcat.......

The guy that owns this pays around $900 a month, at 72 months.

At least you get the big brake upgrade at no extra cost. The 3.73 gears or the other choices are cheap to swap out. I can definately understand being unhappy about the recaros. Personally i'd rather have a used vxr monaro.

It onky seems cheaper because the pound is stronger, if your earning pounds thats different.

Ill check out the ford site.

Ok garbage is too strong of a word.

Its a good car but its about the threatre. The econo versions of muscle cars dilute the image. Imagine if they had made a non turbo version of an escort cosworth. It would never have its holer than thou reputation.

Off topic but a good car you don't get is the hyundai genesis v6 r spec.

I'm a huge fan of Challengers, they're all great to look at. I haven't driven the newer V6, but the old one was so lethargic and wheezy in such a big old tank. Fine for a get-around hire car, but living with one on a daily basis when there's so much more to be had for not much more $$$ is madness.

And here is where your theory breaks down. In the US, European cars are perceived as exotic, and the Dodge is a slog box.

If you were offered those rates on a European Dodge, such as the Avenger, Caliber, or Nitro with their horrible CRD engines, I bet you wouldn't pick one.

The 'D' stands for Devil's Fuel, doesn't it? wink

Seriously, I was just trying to emphasise something other than a V8 SRT.

The one I would definitely pick is the caliber srt4. If you can live with fwd its amazing value for money.
