I know this has probably been asked before what tyres do you think are best on a 04 cv8 Monaro

Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas for mid-range as well, been pleased with mine so far, though the tread pattern can put some people off if you like symmetrical aesthetics on each side of the car.

your brave having goodyear eagle f1. worst tyre i ever put on my 04 ro they used to twitch when going around a fast bend and start to flatten out and use the side wall for tred. yikes and they where the correctly rated tyres, i could noty get ride of them soon enough

laugh I can vouch for this - I was a passenger in Ferrets car once when he had the F1's on and I immediately noticed how bad handling was almost as if the rears didn't have enough air in them - frightening! The Monaro is very fussy on its tyres, I had dunlops on once they didn't feel great so I went back to OEM spec Bridgestone Potenza. No probs.

I've got these on the rear of my cv8 and they're great. Need new front tyres soon, but I seem to remember reading that the MPSS 245/40/18 won't fit on the front because they're too wide (or high) for stock suspension? Because of that I was going to get PS3s but if MPSSs are okay on the fronts then that would be awesome.

That said, the Vredestein Sessantas I've currently got on the front have been pretty good.

ive never had any of those issues. maybe its due to being the new assymetrical 2 ..after reading a few tyre tyre threads and magazine road tests I decided on these. ive got wider on the rear too

maybe they have made serious changes the the Tyre now. but my experience with them has put me off trying them ever again. i know i was not the only one that experienced this. but to repeat what has been said above tyres views are only half the better with monaros as they are such a fussy fussy car over what works, god knows why. now days i use Vredestein Vorti and have no issues, also ran Dunlop Sport MAXX TT (not GT) and they where also fine no issue..
