I run 265/35R18's on my Camaro. Maxxis VICTRA MA-Z1, seemed a good price when I got them, look nice and seem to perform well.

Ill repeat ferrets warning for the Avons too............
I had a blowout a week after I bought mine VXR with 19" Avons with plenty of meat left on them and replaced the other pair 8 weeks later all had failed or failed/failing sidewalls eek

MPSS is THE Way to Go IMHO thumbup
I tried some Avons on the rear of my VXR (19" of course) and replaced them as soon as I could. I ended up having 500 horrible miles, tried all sorts of tyre pressures, higher pressure helped but I didn't enjoy a single mile. I'm not just talking about driving like a tosser either, the rear of the car felt horrible changing lanes on the motorway at 60mph.

However, I sold them to Tempy on here who had a CV8 on VXR wheels and had always run Avons, and he was perfectly happy with them...

I inhereted Avon's on my Monaro (ls2). Wouldn't have chosen them but they seem ok. Not a lot of outright grip/traction in the wet but in the dry they are fine and handling seems pretty predictable in terms of breakaway. Standard sizes too.

I've got these on the rear of my cv8 and they're great. Need new front tyres soon, but I seem to remember reading that the MPSS 245/40/18 won't fit on the front because they're too wide (or high) for stock suspension? Because of that I was going to get PS3s but if MPSSs are okay on the fronts then that would be awesome.

That said, the Vredestein Sessantas I've currently got on the front have been pretty good.
I have 245/40/18 vredstein on the front of mine and will be changed for mpss same size next year and on low suspension
Found where I read it! http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=120...

Says that the MPSS won't fit at the front of a standard cv8 because of the 'spring seat of the standard strut', but it's fine with Pedders suspension. I don't think my man-maths stretches to a suspension upgrade just to fit new tyres unfortunately... smile

I also run Maxxis MAZ1s ony CV8 (but with 19" VXR wheels) and I can't fault them. Good in the dry and surprisingly good in the wet too. Seem to be holding up pretty well too.
