there is very few "local" places to meet up. as Goldie said its either the birchnager services or the Tesco's in royston there about equal distance from duxford. for these that have never been traffic there will be a bloody nightmare. so much so the locals normally go away for the weekend, just to avoid it. also point worth nothing si that the entracne to the big carprk is though a grass field you would have better luck at winning the lottery than getting in the tarmc carpark.

Hi everyone, there is Baldock services just off junction 10 on the A1 which is west of Duxford. It would suit both north and south travellers.
Then travel along the A505 to Duxford. Postcode SG75TR if you want to look on the map.

The problem with that,is it's twice the distance that Royston is.

Tesco Royston is just off a roundabout on the A505 and is 9 miles, 14 minutes.....

Theres a macdonalds very nearby, its on the opp side of the m11 down the a505 so good for north and south pre meet, we've used it many times for Duxford pre meets. From here its a 2 min drive back to duxford IWM.

From the south come off at duxford and turn right, from the north come off at duxford and turn left, 2nd RA then its on your right.

As Ian mentions try to arrive together, they will instruct you where to park so they can cram the cars in so its tough to get group parking but if you arrive together it can be done. The marshalls wont let you park unless its where they tell you to park.

Have a great day its a fantastic place and if you get a chance to go for a flight in the 8 seater biplane take it just don't ask where the escape hatch is lol ive been in it twice and its not for the faint hearted.

The American air museum and land warfare are not to be missed either.
