Roccbox pizza oven
Discussion
Anyone else seen these. I've signed up to the pre-order (no money has been sent yet).
It looks like an interesting concept. We have been thinking about a pizza oven for a while but also think we may move house should the opportunity arise so being portable is an
added benefit.

Nice looking bit of kit. Wonder how long it takes to get up to temp from the fire box?
I have a sneaking suspicion it would be a lot of effort for a pizza. Which is fine if its part of the event, like a BBQ.
Website says 15 mins depending on ambient temp and type of fuel being used. Obviously those are some pretty wide variables but it takes 15 mins at least to get my Napoleon gas BBQ up to temp for pizza.I have a sneaking suspicion it would be a lot of effort for a pizza. Christmas Update
Hey Roccboxer,
Here's a little festive update to keep you in the loop on our awesome little oven and its availability. We're happy to reveal that our perfectionist (and CEO) Tom Gozney has signed off the products build quality and functionality meaning that the testing phase is officially over!
Although Roccbox is technically signed off we now have to get it certified. This won't be complete before Christmas but this phase is so important we can't skip it. As soon as this process is complete we'll send you a final release date!
Don't worry, if you have pre-ordered you'll know when Roccbox is ready to purchase before the rest of the public and it will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
We're sorry there won't be any wood-fired Turkey this Christmas but we're doing everything we can to get Roccbox shipped to our hungry customers as quickly as possible, so thanks again for your patience.
From everyone at HQ
Have a lovely Christmas.

Agreed, but you would not need to buy a separate BBQ and you could leave it outside all year.
I think most people in the market for one of these will already own a BBQ of some sort. I would probably swap my gas BBQ and ProQ Smoker for a BGE if I had seen it first but I've got them. What I think makes this a bit different is that it's a Pizza oven that is WOOD FIRED, PORTABLE and quick.
If the temp achievable by the wood firing is acceptable then the flavour this will impart to the pizza gives it an edge over the BGE. The fact that it can be run on gas is just a bonus
I have a small wood fired pizza oven that I reckon is maybe around double the size of this that I can now get up to decent (500+ degrees) normally in about 25 mins so the 15 minutes on the website could be about right. At these sore of temperatures 90 seconds is about right for a pizza.

Just "pre-ordered" one
Looks like a great piece of kit but there is already something very similar on the market but can’t recall the name.
