My Fury dash has at least 32 wires connecting to it, ideally I'd like to be able to add a single large multipin connector to make removal much easier and tidier.

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get such a thing from?

Best I can find is this, but not 100% sure its suitable, although I think 15A is way more than any dashboard wiring will need?

For that sort of pin count in a single connector you are probably looking at something like this -

However I am intrigued to know HOW you managed to end up with so many connections just to a dash!

Multipin connectors with that number of pins are not usually deigned for high current applications or for connecting the thicker wire required for carrying high currents so check the capacity of any connectors before you buy them.

If you can't get a single connector to do the job you could always use 2 or 3 connectors of the usual automotive type.

I'm using an Alfa 166 as a donor car for my current project...and it is stuffed full of those same AMP connectors, some even used for the instrument cluster among other things. Plenty man enough for what you intend using it for.

Good idea to put it all on one or two plugs. On my last build, I had an array of multiway 6.3mm connectors but the biggest was only 8 way, so it added up to quite a physically large 'lump' of connectors in the end. One single one or perhaps two would be much better.

Yeah I had the 6.3 type on my Tiger but ended up with IIRC 4 or 5, this time I want to get it a bit neater.

I'm using a big ITT Neptune on my engine loom.

Thanks Phillip, looked that brand up and they look ideal, eg
http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/industrial-automatio...

That looks perfect for mounting on an ali bracket behind the dash, way better than a load of small connectors jiggling around.

That is the exact same one I'm using, takes the entire engine loom with pins to spare, and the pins will take up to 16amps a piece so they can take a lot of the power circuitry without issue.

Glad I didn't fit one of these plugs to start with - after a lot of trying to decipher the wiring, specifically the manual fan override switch, turns out it had been bodged to bypass the fan relay and run the full current powering the fan through the switch itself, so a peak of about 13 amps when starting dropping to about 6 amps constant.

I've now fitted a proper fused relay for the switch smile

Don't forget to factor in the cost of the tooling to crimp the connectors, unless you can borrow it of course

Blimey Sloan85, that page on your build blog is my idea of a nightmare smile The end result looks very nice though, wish I understood wiring well enough to do that.
