A45 AMG - How do i know if it's a Facelift?
Discussion
Hi guys, been looking at a couple of A45 AMG's today, both 15 plates, and the sales guy have assured me they're the facelift models. Now i've spent about 2 hours doing some research, and i'm still not sure?
The ones i've been looking at have the rectangle rear exhausts in the bumpers etc, but how do i tell if it is indeed the 380bhp model? The bit that makes me suspicious is that the two i looked at today, don't have the little circular wheel directly below the gearstick (pictured below). Now i know this is to change the driving modes, but the ones i drive did have the comfort, sport and manual modes, but i accessed them by pressing a small button on the side of the gearstick.
All the reviews say things like the rectangular exhaust and new shape front bumper, but when checking auto trader, even the 2013 models have these things? So it's left me confused! Can anyone shed any light? Knowing if it's the 380bhp model is the main thing….
thanks in advance!
for clarity the one pictured above is not the one i looked at, but what i suspect may be a true 380-bhp version. The below is the one i looked at!

I am not sure, but if the registration is RO15NMY, then the dvla has it being registered on 31.03.15, whereas autocar's spy shots article is dated 12.05.15 saying the facelift with power upgrade was set to be released in the autumn. All other articles I have seen date June 2015 onwards, so I assume the one pictured is a 355 version .
Facelift deliveries commenced in late sept '15 so anything registered before is pre-facelift.
The wheel directly below the gear selector in addition to the nav/media wheel is key indicator of it being a facelift also if the car has black side skirts it must also have black wheels to be a facelift.

The last image is a pre-facelift A Class.
This is mine from the same Dealer.
As ecain has said, the easiest way to tell is by looking at the rear lights - specifically the way the LED light bars appear. Type into Google images 'A45 AMG facelift' and the second picture you see of the red car shows you what the facelifted model's rear lights look like. Remove the word 'facelift' from your search term and the third picture you see of the white car shows the rear of a pre-facelift car. The difference is quite obvious.
Currently, the dealer is lying to you and/or is mistaken as the car you've pictured is definitely not a facelift model.
