I would think that someone offered him more than he paid, as they were impatient.

Well I can't pay £55K for a new GTS, and the factories close down next year anyway, so no more Holden's for me.
The question is, when do we all defect to Ford?....Think about it Monaro's are 10yrs+ old already!

John you have to look at it another way, just because Monaro are 10+ years old like mine they stil have the get up and go, to give that biglaugh grin every time you take it out. Car running gear is so easy to work on and parts are easy to obtain I dont think that the ford would have the same following of passionate people that you get with the HSV crowd, and such good reliable after care likes of the fish and walkinshaw' This is what car ownership is all about.

My car as not seen the inside of a warm garage since new, it sits out in all weathers and those of you that know me I am sure would agree that the car looks well at meetings.

Point I am making is why change your car like some change phones, just to have a up to date boring European look alike, sorry I prefer to behold a car that as character and why change it if it aint broke.

A mustang is not a replacement for a Monaro. It's just something you get extra, to lighten the load and make the Monaro feel extra special. smile

Time to try the oppositions new offering

Lets see how it sizes up

Warranty should be useful with the lights misting up etc after a whole 8 mile

That car,in that colour, with that size front number plate!!!
I would expect to get pulled by the first traffic cop that see's it
Best of luck.....

Ade,

Well,I think you may be right when you put it that way. It will be interesting to hear what people think of them in another 10yrs.
I must admit every once in a while I consider selling, but can't bring myself to do it.
The annoying thing is I'm really not sure why?
So,if in doubt, it's probably not a good idea!

I'm jealous, I've only got the backend of a 55 made into seat!
You need to checkout Running on empty Aussie film (not U.S) for a nice 57 two door.

Nice Phase3 GTHO too in the film, not a bad movie for the early 80's.
My seat needs restoring and is on my jobs to do list and has been for the last 15 years, it'll get done one of these days. Maybe once I have stopped ute upgrades. whistle

The Whipple should be here in the next fortnight so the figures will be interesting to see when I bolt it on for him
