Booked (using old username so it causes less confusion on the results)
So how much BHP will we have by then ???To be honest, not sure. Depends on finances and customs clearances of parts etc. Not going to be chasing the record this year, just better my previous best.
Would other GM LS powered vehicles be welcome to this? Wouldn't mind having ago in the z28?
And how strict is the noise test? Would an iPhone app used under the same test conditions produce similar results or is the testing equipment somewhat keener?
EDIT:
If it helps, the Z28 was officially sold by Vauxhall dealers from 1998-2002.

Shame. Can I ask who the "we" is in the your last sentence? As a Petrolhead I would love to say Yes,

And curious, if it's only Vaxhall, how come Holdens are allowed? Isn't that a Holden on the webpage pic?

Nope, that is a Vauxhall VXR8
Rather thought the badges look Holden Anyhow entry list certainly has non UK model Holdens listed.
Just seems odd that a show claiming to be going back to it's roots, which it then describes as "performance cars from the General Motors stable", won't allow a GM Performance car, that was actually marketed and sold at a Vauxhall dealer to come and play, but will allow a grey imported Australian vehicle that wasn't actually sold here and isn't a Vauxhall either.

Thanks, just wasn't sure and as I don't know you personally, I did not know what "we" was referencing in your post.DougieMc said:

It's not a Corvette. My car is a 1999 Camaro and to quote your earlier post:DougieMc said:
WE (Vauxhall) Brought in the Camaro from Chevrolet.
I'm not trying to be funny about this. But Vauxhall did the same thing with certain other GM models in the past, as they did with some of the Holden range, although they didn't re-badge them.My Camaro is a full EU model and was sold new by a Vauxhall dealer in London back in 1999 (it still had the Vauxhall dealer tax disc holder in it when I bought the car). And was Vauxhall dealer serviced and maintained in it's earl days.
My local Vauxhall dealer (MK) also sold these cars new from 1998-2002.
It's no less a UK Vauxhall car than a Holden Ute is and arguably more so as the latter must be a grey import and never been through a Vauxhall dealership.
I'm not wanting to de-rail your thread. So if no is still the answer then fine. But it would rather seem of one rule for them and a different rule for me.

I answered your question when you asked aboveAnswer hasnt changed as these have been the rules since we took the event on a few years ago.
The rule incorporates the link to the Holden cars that we still sell today.
And as said above
Vauxhalls event Vauxhalls Rules
And Breathe
The Holden link is still today, the Chevy and Corvette one is not.
Although you said above you didnt want to hi-jack the thread you successfully have.
Maybe you could ask for a similar event over on the Chevy/Corvette forum as that would be more apt for you.
The clue is in the Vauxhall name and Vauxhall Brand, as mentioned as a Petolhead I would live to run a full all Marques VMax event but as its from a Vauxhall budget I have my limits, each year we think ourselves lucky that we are able to have such an even continued as Im sure all that attend do too.
Feel free to continue your thread disruption but Im sure the other members will agree its a great event and we want it to continue without negativity like this being raised.
Thanks Again

Maybe Dougie has to be polite, but the history is that a few years ago, when Chevrolet also had offices at Griffin House, they were asked to contribute and participate. They declined, as their 'customer profile' didn't want that sort of thing - so Vauxhall underwrote the event on their own.
Look on it as a silhouette event. Our Holden (purchased after having a couple of VXRs in the family) is pressed by the same factory as the Maloo and VXR8.
Dougie, if it saves grief, you can scratch me from the list, and we'll just spectate. It's a fantastic event and we wouldn't miss the party for anything.
