Just changed location to RAF Cottesmore. Bloomin military wanting to use their own runway!
Is this a late April fools day prank..? Can You confirm Dougie..?
Looks like there's gonna be some frantic re-booking of Hotels
Ironically the travel time looks to be the same for me

Just the hotels to rearrange.
At least it's still going ahead.
This! ^^^^^^At least it's still going ahead.
Some old skin-flint with a white truck booked non-refundable accommodation. In Premier Inn's T&C it does still say that bookings can be cancelled but that a fee was applicable, so I chanced my arm, and rang. "The cancellation fee is the same as the full cost of the booking sir" so nobody else bother spending 13p/min on their 0871 number.
I've now booked the Melton Mowbray Premier Inn, but the South Witham Travelodge is closer, and a little cheaper.
Cottesmore though. Time to lock-wire reverse up, so that I can't select it.

Also, might be worth looking into the refund of hotel costs potential from Javelin:
"Please also use the Venue Change Option Form to let us know of any expenses you may have incurred already such as non-refundable Hotel deposits etc. Refunds for these will be considered."

Not just you. I went with the non-refundable option on the hotel too. Some old skin-flint with a white truck booked non-refundable accommodation. Hopefully we'll get the lost hotel cost back. Probably depends how extravagant we've been on hotels. Luckily I'm tight so it was a cheap hotel to start with

Now why would ARAF be booking there..?

Looks like we've inadvertently done the north/south split again.
Myself, moif, MikeyB and Dale (DRC) have booked in at Peterborough (Norman Cross A1(M), J16) for £32.50. Anyone else is more than welcome to join us. No problems with parking there and the food/drink is top notch
How you got it for £32 Myself, moif, MikeyB and Dale (DRC) have booked in at Peterborough (Norman Cross A1(M), J16) for £32.50. Anyone else is more than welcome to join us. No problems with parking there and the food/drink is top notch

Cottesmore is a better runway
Better surface yes, but it's uphill slightly. Also, back in 2011 people were reporting the distance to be only 0.9 mile rather than the full whole mile... I do wonder if the runway is shorter and so perhaps they trim it down to 0.9 mile to allow more braking distance perhaps? Or maybe it was shortened due to the rain that lasted all day long back in 2011.pah250 said:

In that case we will have to go faster for compensation in distance lolGassing Station | HSV & Monaro | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
