Great to read that you all had a good time. I have ideas about next year but maybe time to move south as we have been in Scotland last few years.

Now I believe that was the 7th national meet so far so good we have had them all over the country.

I think the North Coast 500 should be the aim for the 10th meet. But that will take a few days to cover and as we have people coming from down south so a bit planning involved in that.

So ideas for next year would be great so we can get the ball rolling if there is not already ideas about it.

Thanks

Simon
For me, the awesome driving roads, lack of traffic jams and amazing scenery in Scotland are unbeatable anywhere else in the mainland UK. I think this adds hugely to the meet.

Wasn't there talk last year of having a Scottish meet and then a separate meet somewhere else in England/Wales on a different date? This might be a good solution. Of course someone needs to step forward and arrange said meets...
I agree with Paul. I'm lucky to have amazing roads close by to me, but they are still not a patch on the roads in Scotland when all things considered. I appreciate it is a long way for some to travel and would no doubt have more people attend if we moved it further south. However, the weekend is about driving and enjoying the cars (as well as the banter) and there is no better place than Scotland.
We could run two national meets, with one being south England/Wales, but it would require someone with local knowledge to organise it.

I'm unfortunate in living where roads are incredibly congested, there are some nice roads to drive but you'd need to be driving them at silly o'clock to avoid tons of traffic.
The drive round Scotland we had at the weekend more than compensates for the journey up there and back.

Taken Friday the 2nd off work! 3 nights away? Have a wicked route in mind to include a visit to Skye, the best of the North Coast 500 and the Old Military Road😉 Did a similar run in 2012 and last year.Stayed in pubs!🍺

I've put a holiday request in to get Thu 1st and Fri 2nd booked off work. Should know for sure next week. Already have the following week booked off and managed to swap my callout.

Looking forward to this smile

4 nights??? Could meet at Stirling on the Thursday evening and set off properly on the Friday. Was thinking Portree(Skye) on the Friday night,Ullapool on the Saturday night and Inverness in the Sunday night. Know plenty of pubs, hotels and restaurants enroute.I know that Paul has a very discerning palate! 🐂🍟🍺

4 nights would be good. Means we won't have such a tight schedule and can 'go off piste' if we see something interesting.

I thinking about a trip to the highlands this summer, can someone post or PM me the route that you guys did?

I keep looking at the North coast 500 but stories of single track lanes and slow moving traffic suggest that there are better loops if you venture away from the coast.
