Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has the old style Wortec electric exhaust valve setup for a Monaro VXR which uses the OEM button next to the T/C button inside the car. Reason being is that I am not a fan of the new style one with the remote control to activate the valves.

Ideally I am just after the wiring setup and control module so I can buy the newer more reliable Wortec valves to complete the setup I'm after.

Hopefully someone can help smile

I expect you could source the switch from eBay. Wortec used an interior sensor switch, but there are parking sensor switches that'll do the same job.

Thanks that's is the exact switch I'm after but also the control unit for the exhaust valves as the remote one has a different control box apparently.

Do you know what the switch in the picture is called so its easier for me to search for one?

Have you spoken to Monkfish? They might have a part number.

I don't know what they call that exact one. Look on Aussie eBay and you'll see some with PWR on that look ok.

Yes just spoke to Monkfish and they have the 4 switch bezel and blanking switch so just need the switch like the one above to complete that part of the setup. I did see the PWR ones but would rather use the same as the one in the picture.

All I need now is below:

- Interior Switch like above
- Control Module
- Wiring from Switch to Control Module then to both valves

I can get the electric valves from Monkfish so wont need them but if someone wants to sell the whole setup together I'm willing to buy the lot.

Not a wortec controller but you can get a controller from alliexpress cheap as chips . Nasty looking switch that comes with it can easily be changed for a rocker switch of your choice

http://s.aliexpress.com/nIJBJ7b6

I've used this switch which tightly fills the space where 2 oem switches would fit next to tc / fog lights switch

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-Window-Aerial-Up-...

The controller opens the valves from open to close with one touch and vice versa

I have just bought one of the little switches from the U.S which makes more sense to use, either open or closed nice and instant no having to keep your finger on the button.

Thanks for the link for the controller. Thats a definit option if I cant get hold of the genuine Wortec controller. Will the controller work with the OEM switch?

Regarding the switch it looks good but really want to go down the route of the stock switch so it looks factory.

Thanks for the suggestion but want to use the GM button for that factory look. I was under the impression the switch used for the Wortec setup was still one push close and one push open because of the controller?

Just an update smile

I now have the switch I want and can get the Wortec Valves so just need the control module for the switch.

If I cant find anyone that is selling there switch type Wortec control module I will look into seeing if the remote control Wortec module can be converted into using a switch. If someone could confirm that it can be done or even explain how it is done that would be even better.

If it cant be done can the switch be cut off and my new switch be connected to the module recommended above - http://s.aliexpress.com/nIJBJ7b6 - and if so will it work fine with the Wortec Valves?

My Remote Transmitter Works well from inside the centre console under the flip up panel - Neatly Attached with BlackTac.

If you have 2 non latching switches (ie closes only when the switch is depressed and opens the contact afterwards) you could Open the Remote control up and wire one across each of the remote's switches no connection to the car's loom required...

Thanks that sounds like its worth looking into if I cant wire straight into the control module.

Does anyone know what the control module does exactly so I can try to understand it better?

Not sure exactly what the controller dose but assume that when you press the button it activates one of the mini relays in the pic to control the one touch aspect and the other relay when you press the opposite button, and guessing the circuitry senses when the valve is fully open/closed or times the process and cuts the power (all assumptions)

I've got the controller from China and I've removed the switch and replaced it with a rocker switch with no problem open wire close wire and earth. Can't see why it wouldn't work with the wortec valves as as far as I know they are just a motor connected to a flap the same as all the other makes

That does make sense. So if I cant get hold of the Wortec controller I will get one of the China ones. The switch I have ordered works the same as the fog light switch on the Monaro's so when you press the button it stays down and when you press it again and it comes back up. I would have ideally liked the switch to stay up all the time like the T/C button does but the one I have seems like it would work well as a replacement for the rocker switch.

My rocker switch is momentary and returns to the centre off position. So I press one side and the flaps open and the switch returns to off then I press the opposite way and they close with the switch returned to the centre off position which works perfectly with the China controller. Your switch is a latching switch that stays in the on position so not sure it would work

Ah that's a shame. I have been trawling the internet and all I can find is two types of control modules. One with a toggle switch and the other being the remote.

I think I just have to hope someone with the old electric valve setup no longer uses it so I can use there control module.

Its the last piece of the puzzle I need now but its looking doubtful frown
