Hi to all
I've had 2 new rear tyres fitted by a national
Mobile fitting company and they've scuffed one
Alloy and scratched the other on the outside
And gauged the inside where the tyre sits.
The fitter said he didn't realise the tyres come
Off backwoods never seen that before in 15
Years they have admitted responsibility and
Sent out a mobile wheel refurber they said
They could fix the outside but not the inside
As they couldn't remove the tyre .
I'm still waiting for the company to get back to
Me I've sent some pictures to the complaints
Department waited another week while there
Trying to find someone to fix them my question
Is the damage to the inside of the wheel will
This make a weakness in the alloy even after
Being refurbished should I be asking for new
Alloy I've added pictures the outside is better
Than inside

IMHO that should be absolutely fine to refurb. Big area though so might struggle to make it look acceptable - in which case a full refurb needed. I'd argue then that they won't match and you need all 4 done.

My refurb (at The Wheel Specialist - admittedly on a special offer, but one of their more complex finishes) was £280. So they will pay a lot less than that at trade prices.

Worst case - get them to do 2 and agree who will do it - then you can pay to have your two fronts done?

a normal refurb will sort that but id get them to agree that if they don't match id want all 4 doing.

happened to me once..so they refurbed the damaged ones and they matched so I was fine..and obviously didn't go back

Have they been refurbished before?

If not, then there should be a label on the inner rim that says they are reverse fit.

Mobile repairs guys just spray the area. I'd insist on getting it powder coated.
