A silly question I know, but with that cam pack fitted, what's it like to drive in the real world?...I hate to say it but it is very tempting....damn it.

oh...your car look's ace by the way.

Great result, totally agree on the raked stance (as does Mr C V8), my (VXR) is super low at the front and low at the rear.

Love the wheels, it's great to see some variation on the Monaros, there aren't really any off the shelf choices over here so good on you for finding another set that works smile

Not sure about the spoiler, will wait until I see it in person, but that's only because I really like the shape of the stock CV8 rear, so much so I've considered removing my spoiler.

Thanks for the comments. It drives absolutely fine with the cam pack, it can lurch a bit when trying to drive too slowly but as long as I'm driving normally it's fairly smooth up to 4000rpm then it goes fcensoreding mental round to 7000rpm and I can keep the wheels spinning into 3rd ( no point building an engine which revs to 7000rpm to drive it like an old lady) Thanks for the comment on the wheels, they were quite easy to find once I knew what to look for (thanks Gurmeet) any wheels that fit an E46 3 series BMW will fit, all I had to do was have the centre bore machined out to fit the Monaro hub, you just have to be careful with the offset as too much and it will rub the inner wheel arch

I'm still on the standard diff, I did consider changing it, does it make a big difference?

Muchly, mine was changed to a 3.9 as well, better pick up, really notice it is 3/4/5/6 gears, particularly 6th which was now usable. Though mine wasn't cam'd so you probably already have much better pick up! Only thing was motorway cruising now sat at slightly higher revs.

I had a 3.90 diff fitted a while ago, and it did make a big difference in every day driving. As previously stated 6th gear is now usable!
I would think with a cam pack fitted as well, you could get into some serious trouble!!!! in a warp drive kind of way....

Cam + 3.91 diff makes for a perky drive...with hindsight I should have done the diff before the engine mods smile

I love how clean and uncluttered early cv8s look.

The 3.9 diff makes a massive difference in pickup. 2,3,4 are much nicer with the effectively shorter ratios. But it does make first seriously short I find.

Icon,
Did your Monaro come with the boot spoiler, or was it something you fitted?

Would love to fit something similar / same to my CV8, as it looks really cool.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers
Boysie.

Cheers Boycie, it came already fitted to the car but somewhere down the line I've spoken to a former owner who told me what it was. I'll check through old posts when I get a chance and I'll let you know

And I might even spell your name right when I get back to you! Just looked through some old threads from 2015, a former owner had it imported from Australia and all he could remember was it was a JHP V1. Sorry cant help with anymore as that's all I know

Perfect looking CV8 that! Can you tell Me what offset these are? DRM Wheels say these won't clear AP'. This suggests otherwise
