I am looking for something along the lines of Mr Gasket multi layer aluminium type, something that has a really good seal rather than standard LS1 type. I have had a look on Jegs site and there seam to be different sizes for the LS1 to confuse things. I have 241 heads and Wortec manifolds, without taking the manifolds off at this stage I have no idea of what size is needed. Anyone know of this type of gasket supplier in the U.K?

There is no better gasket to use than the OEM GM gasket.

If the headers are leaking there, the flange must be warped. Fix that.

I'm not sure it is leaking it's just I have a suspicion it could be, I have what sounds like pinkin (pinging) at about 2000rpm and it is a process of elimination before I start taking the heads off. Exhaust system had been off a week or so before I noticed the sound so maybe I have disturbed the manifolds when removing the system a couple of times. It doesn't sound like lifters as it seams to be noticeable at 2k. I have had a look on the net to see if anyone has had similar problems and a suggestion of gasket was raised by someone to fix their problem, they did lifters first then it turned out to be an exhaust gasket.
If GM ones are good I'll give Picador a shout on Monday.

I suppose if you don't really know what your looking at. The internet can be a good thing or a costly one for advise, you always have to weary of internet experts.
Stevie do you hangout on the Turbosports forum sometimes?

I got a price from Picador for the gaskets which was £57 each! I needed some bits from Monkfish and asked the guy if they did genuine ones and they have some in stock, I can't remember how much the guy said but it was £67 inc air con belt and s/charger belt and gaskets.
