Hi,

First time posting here and i need help...

I am in desperate need of some new brakes (Calipers/discs) for my mums 2001 HSV GTS-R.

We sent the original Harrop calipers off to a company to be rebuilt, they came back to me leaking so i sent them back to be fixed and the company "lost" them!

So at present we have a HSV GTS-R sat on the front garden with no brakes :-(

I have spoken to monkfish but they dont know when the AP kit will be available. I've spoken to Harrop in Australia and their kits are on back order and i've spoken to Walkinshaw performance but haven't heard back from them yet.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Someone on here has a bracket for either vxr8 calipers or CTV-S calipers. Can't remember which.

But surely the company that lost them should be sorting this out.

Agree with the above.

Sorry for your woes, and you can always contact Brett (speed4u) or Gary (Raving) to see what second hand parts they have.

If you're really stuck, I have a set of VE SSV brakes here, that could be adapted to fit (FOC for the over-zealous moderators).

Raving - Are the brakes and wheels off the GTS and UTE for sale? I see from your profile you are based in Brum, i'm up the road in Stafford so not far to nip down.

The company in question are reimbursing me for the cost of new calipers, After nearly 12 month of pissing around, solicitors letters and threats to take them to court... Safe to say i wont be recommending them to anybody! I cant really name them yet as i still haven't received the payment, they have 10 working days to sort it out.

No naming and shaming allowed!!!! beer

You have to PM Gary (raving) or get his mobile number if you want to ask about buying stuff.

Try sticking some VXR brakes on it. The callipers are easier to come by and replacement discs are considerably cheaper. I bought a spare set the other day for buttons by comparison.

If you were wanting new big calipers, AP etc, either BG Developments could build you a kit or Alyn at AS performance.

But you'd need to send a hub to them for fitment purposes if they didnt already have a setup on file.

I hope the the reimbursement you are getting is a considerable sum as the harrop 4 pots are very costly to buy new from oz

I'm sure Raving could sort you out with an invoice that is just as expensive. wink

A second hand set sent of for full refurb should be about the same as new anyway! The seal kit is not cheap!

Try hi-spec. Will be aluminium callipers and well priced. Probably less than the harrops.

I dont think they lost your brake calipers. They must of damaged them beyond repair. There is a full set of used HSV Harrop calipers on OZ ebay for $2950. Have a look also send a link to the refurb company. Feel sorry for you in this situation.
