Fuel level sender

Evening all,
I was just wondering if anyone else has had issues with the fuel level sender on a VXR8.
Back in November 2014, just 2 months after buying my 8 the "Contact Dealer" sprung up and the fuel gauge went to zero.
The code it gave was P0463.
In April last year I had the sender replaced at Walkinshaw and so far so good until a few days ago I broke down due to having no fuel (The gauge showed 1/2 a tank).
The gauge is now going straight to zero and the "Contact Dealer" is back on the dash, I have the same code as before P0463.
Does anyone know if the sender is a weak point on the car?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
