Vauxhall zafira 1.9 EGR, DPF Removal & remap.

I own a 58' plate Vauxhall zafira 1.9 life.(120bhp) with 57,000 miles on the clock.
Lately the emissions light came on, so I done the pedal test & the fault code came up about the DPF
Has anyone removed the EGR & DPF & had the car remapped?
I want to know will it be less trouble & not a MOT failure, thanks

It'll be fine all removed and deleted, just choose wisely who does it
Plenty of knowledgeable mappers on the Vectra C owners club, maybe someone close to you that maybe able to help you out
Your biggest issue will be the chocolate M32 gearbox that's fitted to your Zafira imo

Best thing I did to my Vectra was egr delete and a remap

Thanks mate, Avon tuning are doing it, the done a touran for me last year, no problems so fingers crossed again this time

How much are they charging? I am due to be driving a Vec c sri 120 very soon and once my zaf gsi is sold, look to get the vectra sorted out with the DPF/EGR etc...

Avon tuning are doing a good deal at the moment £400 to have the DPF & EGR Removed & map it from 120bhp to 150bhp

did find one the other week (Celtic Tuning i think it was) who would do a decent remap for a pretty good price. Not really in the know with the workings of engines but if it's common for people to blank off the EGR and take out the DPF thing, why did they bother with them to begin with from factory?

Because they reduce emissions so the car conforms to regulations and keeping the VED cost down, they also help to stop the putrid black smoke and smell that comes out of a lot of older diesels so thanks for that

got a fair few of the guys in 306 D turbo's round my way that do this. Comical to see but sod being behind it! I can't talk though at the moment as my zaf gsi has the blue smoke on pull away. Feel like James bond if it's stop start traffic, Stems or turbo being the culprit.Had one cyclist have a proper whinge at me a few months back as he got the wrath of the blue cloud
