Why bother having a car if you are only keeping it in a garage!!!! waste of money IMO.

Use mine everyday, to be fair I only live a mile from work. It's just I get sent out all over the place so always take the car.

Like many on here I bought mine new so I could use it daily. Started modding it, fell in love with it, and when the time came to get something more practical, kept it as a second car. Including the wife's, we now have 4 cars and a motorbike to choose from so the Monaro is used sparingly. The upside is mine still looks like new which isn't bad for a 10 year old car.

The comment was more to do with the fact that the Ute and Boxster spend most of the time on the drive, but I had to go to Harlow, so took the Boxster - though I have recently changed my Boxster.

Just joined but have been watching this post with interest. Im looking for vxr8 and my wife will using it to comute the 10mls each way to work. Shes just as much a petrol head as me and just qualified as a nurse so we thought what the hell why not get something a little crazy. Also living 10 mins from the evo triangle it would be nice to have something decent to drive around now the bike has gone.
Hmmm, 10 miles each way eh? About the same commute as me - that equates to about 60 miles a day then in the grinmobile biggrin
I've tried so damn hard to only go to work & back but just can't get the hang of it laugh

7 1/2 years ownership and was my daily driver but for the last 5 years it's my second car and it now does less than 3k a year. If I used it for my commute I would be broke as it only returns 8mpg in traffic the curse of a big cam.

We use ours almost every day although the wife drives it to work and back mostly abuot a 2.5 mile round trip - I used to work 50 miles away from home so occasionally took it for a 'blow out' but now work 2 miles from home so the annual mileage on both cars will be around 4k now between the two lol.
Had the R8 6 years now and gone from 32k when I bought it to 84k now - have had some great road trips and European adventures but am happy to keep the mileage lower now as it a keeper unless the right option comes up but not 'looking' to change it

the head gaskets gone on the daily drive subaru so monaro will now be my daily drive as it was a while ago , it still gets used a fair amount probably 6 to 7 k per year , any excuse to drive a v8 is a good one , i'm more worried about Araf owning a porsche at some point
