It's been a while, so by way of an update. The car has been to Monkfish for a service and MOT (MOT not due but wanted to coincide with service), plus other bits and bobs. Car has now done 19k miles and has increased in value according to MF valuation which is nice to know! Had naff Parrot installation removed ditto economiser over steering wheel boss. Wheels are fine, but may get them refurbed let's see.

19k, thats obscene. Nice to see you are still enjoying the car

If that's gone up in value does that mean 120k is worth more again rolleyes

My paint man did it actually. He has a body shop that restores some very exotic machinery and he did his apprenticeship at Vauxhall, so I figured he would know where all the problems were likely to arise. I think he has done a good job because his paintwork is fabulous. He didn't use much wax oil but I figure he was being precise as to where he was applying it. It's great that it's a hot day today as the waxoil will be busy wicking into all the nooks and crannies as we 'speak'!

Wax oil? Surely you can't think this is up to the job? I have followed your thread with great interest but I certainly wouldn't use wax oil to rust proof anything you must be talking of a different product?
