My right Indicator is flashing twice as fast as the left hand side, starts off normally and then speeds up to twice as fast, im no car electrics expert so what causes this, Thanks.

Have you checked the bulbs to see if one has blown?

If all the globes are working the the flasher relay is probably stuffed.

If a VXR8 - cold weather (mine when 5 degrees C or below) does that on un-fixed cars - don't know about other models.

The problem is only on one side, so logically you do have a bulb problem. Some of the bulbs are dual-filament, and I'll bet that one of the filaments has broken and is now shorting against the other circuit in that bulb. This has occured in my own GTO.

Not the relay from memory - it's the light cluster itself. Common fault, had mine done under warranty.
Something to do with a resistor going out of tolerance at low temperature.
I think there's a diy workaround/fix if you search.

As above - "all" vxr8's do this in cold weather until you have the extra piece of wiring loom fitted to the rear lights. (About 15com extra that just plugs in and must change the impedance slightly).

Almost all have these fitted now, but worth checking!

Had it fixed, but the problem has come back. I think Goldie has the same problem.

Its usually a cold/damp thing mine were very intermittent. I lost patience in the end and replaced all the LEDs in both units for the indicators and touch wood haven't had the problem since. Considering replacement units are in the region of £500-800 if the loom fix doesn't work for you its well worth DIYing the LEDs if you can.

posted about this a few weeks ago. I've had a new light unit and it is now (still) flashing. I cant get hold of any of the looms and Picador aren't getting any more. I'm going to have a look at the LED control unit next...

When I was having problems Walkinshaw had the required bits but if it still does it with a new unit I would guess you have some other problem.

In terms of wiring both rear lights are the same so if you unscrew them from the car you can swap them over on the wiring and see if the fault follows the light unit or stays on the same side.

Mot rules-indicator to flash between 60 and 120 times per second. NOT an Mot fail.
