Anyone running a diff cooler ? I found my diff getting hot at a trackday today. After a while I could hear the rear diff sounding a bit noisey ,I'm running a Harrop sports diff cover and could feel the diff housing which was pretty hot. I'm after some info in what I will need.

I toyed with the idea and managed to get a pump off a Nissan skyline GTR

I never fitted it because I never monitored the temp before hand.

I would try to add a thermocouple first and see what the oil temp gets to first

I know the Gen f has a diff cooler, there are two pipes that go to the front of the car to a rad, must be a pump involved, also the gearbox had a cooler too, probably quite easy to do if you have the diff out to drill tap for a supply and return with a pump and rad.

i saw one on a lotus carlton , the slight downside with his it was plumbed into the boot of the car , it looked like an easy set up , it was just the diff being done and not the box , how was the track day ?

The Harrop Diff cover does have spots for an oil cooler to be used with it. Look up what road race guys are using or the people in Australia.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll do a bit of online research to see what I can find out.
Oil pump, oil cooler and pipework and I think that is about it.

Trackday was ace! Monsoon weather and lots of power, 3rd lap and I was heading off track for a skid about on the grass which was fun. Ute is a bit more of a handful than my nice nimbal Chevette was. Chevette would have been much faster. One thing I felt I or should I say I missed was a roll cage. Fishtailing up the straight at about 100 was good fun too and that was when I was thinking about cages. Once the track dried out it went well, did what I asked it to do handled really good, better than I thought it was going to.
