Virtually nothing, though many are now fitted with cats. According to the rules motorcycles are exceedingly green, but they still get heavily taxed. However, in the real world I've had bikes that drink juice as fast as any V8.

Not claiming any great insight, but I believe there's hijinx with response flatspots for emissions and noise tests. Bike MOTs are quick and painless though smile

But again it isnt necessarily fuel usage that the hippies cry about, it's what comes out the tailpipe and how clean that is.

I always thought bike tax was dirt cheap ?

A 125cc is, but anything over 600cc is £82.

Diry cheap compared with a VXR8, but their carbon profile is better than cars that get tax for £30

Motorcycles are not particularly green. Not with cams for 1000 to 12000 rpm. They have high emissions for the engine size, but they aren't targeted because they are less than 2% of the traffic on the road.
And ALL new bikes are fitted with cats. Even Vespas.

Saying this, they are by far the most efficient form of personal transport.

My bike: 1200cc triple, 135hp, 270kg, 50mpg
My wife's citigo: 1000cc triple, 65hp, 930kg, 50mpg

wobble

That said, the citigo doesn't get 50mpg when I drive it...

Fiesta ST200 - 197hp - just shy of 47mpg combined - plenty of go (though not as much as a 1200cc bike)

FI too tongue out

Light, bit of poke, increased NVH (over a bigger car), what's not to like? Nice to keep the monaro(s) in context too smile
