After 1 year and 3500 miles it's time to say goodbye to my CV8. She has exceeded my expectations as a great GT car that I've used as a daily and never fails to put a smile on my face. The only real reason for the change is I have a few cars I want to try and unfortunately for me I can't keep them all. Thanks to the guys on here for the helpful posts and banter as well as on those that get on the FB page. Something tells me I'll be back in Monaro again in the future.

They are only going up in value though due to a declining UK stock situation and the fact they won't be made again, so expect to pay a bit more for this Ozzie icon than your sold it forsmile

Agree seem to remember years ago some people predicting a Monaro could be had for around 5k about now, they are certainly holding well.

Be interested to see how they fair in the future dare I say worth more than the vxr8 s ?

when Monaros go up in value then it pushes VXR8s up aswell, hence why VXR8s have held their money well over the last 3 yrs. Think Monaros will still be £9k - £15k for a while. the lower CV8 price range values will hold value well as they wont ever be £6k again

Yeah, I'm sure prices will hold if not creep up slowly. Shame I can't keep her and park her up, although saying that I was always after a facelift CV8 (my personal favourite on looks) so maybe I'll return again if one of these appeared at the right time.
It never fails to amaze me how car prices can suddenly shift.
I looked at a few Porsche 911 (996) C4S last year and prices were £12k-16k, can't get one for less than £16k now. Turbos did dip below £20k but now they have shot up as well.

Agreed, I don't think CV8's will ever command a premium but they will hold/creep up in proportion to VXR''s and R8's. as long as you can break one with a serviceable LS1 and box for £5k then evan a poor whole car will never dip below £6k.

Good luck with your next car, there is a guy on our close who has sold his classic mini GT twice and bought it back twice he can't seem to live without it.

Guess I am lucky that my Monaro is not my daily never has been, can't imagine ever parting with it 6 years on still feels like an occasion when we venture out, we have diesel cars for daily drive.
I would be perfectly happy if mine stayed where it was now value wise never imagined that when I bought it

Sticking with V8's then 😉.
I looked at the cls's, they are very well priced but stupidly didn't realise they are only 4 seater!! If I'm going big then it needs to be functional for a family of 5!!
Let me know if you are serious about the Ro as I've had a few offers in the £7XXX range which I might accept but would love to pass it back to someone who would take good care of it again.

No Brainer - 5 seats V8 - VXR8 and stay on here ? biggrin

That would be nice but apart from a lack of funds to reach a decent spec R8 I also need to scratch this Range Rover itch.

Typical eBay messer means I'm still the owner of a Monaro. All part of the fun and games of selling on EBay. Just need to get my fees refunded, have to enjoy driving it again for another week smile

Well, second time lucky. Genuine buyer turned up today. Gave it a thorough look over (even brought his overalls with him and a torch to go grovelling under it), had a test drive and left a deposit. It's genuinely been fun ownership but on to the next toy.
