Just a power run? How did you find them? I was considering them for a bit of spark mapping since Powerstation in Tewkesbury are no more.

Yeah, they checked the fuelling while doing it while they said was standard. I've never taken the car for a power run anywhere else so hard to give much of a verdict but they seemed to know what they were doing. Their FB shows a decent selection of interesting cars being tinkered with on the dyno as well.

Normal, though not sure what answer I was expecting. wink Not much choice in the area!

I read in an old thread on here divide by .8 for a manual .75 for an auto then did that and assumed it had to be wrong as the number was over 550 which seems unrealistically high.

Indeed, there was some odd business with the coastdown part of the run which he said could be affecting the number slightly. I meant to ask after but forgot. Something to do with it being an auto running up with the gear manually selected then having to select drive then neutral for it to coastdown so there was a big variance on the start of the coastdown line as the auto box shifted. I don't know if there's a way to avoid that or if its just something you have to put up with on an auto.

I agree that the difference between wheels and flywheel is wrong. Should be around 100hp difference. Did they lock the torque converter for the power run?

They plugged into it but looked like a fairly normal scanner type thing to watch the timing and the like so i'd be surprised if they did. Until I just googled it I didn't even know that was a thing so I didn't know to ask.

Looks like a good result.

Your spec is similar to mine albeit I don't have the fast intake.

I'd like to get mine on the rollers at SRR soon.... anyone keen for another SRR day??

Doesnt the Power @ Engine of 475hp mean flywheel power?

Yes, but transmission losses on these cars is greater than 40hp, so something is wrong with the calculated figures.

It's academic really, as the measured hp is at the wheels, and that's what gets you up the road, not the calculated flywheel figures.

This ^^^^. Calculated fly figure is a nonsense.

430 at the wheels is a good result (which is the actual work done). Certainly comfortably north of 500 bhp at the flywheel. That over 100 bhp up on a stock car.

If this is an auto, it will still be lower than reality due to convertor slip.

Wheel horsepower seems on the high side, but the main thing is how it drives on the road.
Bring it to Thunderroad to see what it'll do smile

I'd be up for that, see if this puts down similar numbers on a known RR

And me as i still need to get an "after" reading now i've had the CAM done. Was 388 RWHP standard at SRR so will be interesting to see what it is now.

Not wanting to hijack the thread but thought this would be a good comparison. I had mine on a Dastek Dyno at a different garage after installing a cam.

LS2 VXR8 (Manual)
WP Wildcam
Wortec Exhaust, Headers, Cats
VCM OTR

Similar results although again, RWHP is probably a little on the high side.
