And still with a manual, because he's awesome
I noticed the OP also has a T56 so I have a suggestion for those lingering around high power figures. If you have a high power application, you should install bungs and sprayers. This is a service offered by builders such as RPM, Tick performance etc. Basically, you run an external pump and spray fluid directly onto the input shaft gear/bearing for lubrication. Many of the failures result from lack of lubrication from fluid slush during hard acceleration. My TR6060 is stout and succumbed to the same effect. After a an encounter with a ZX14-r on the autobahn and multiple 180mph+ pulls, the trans started whining during every gear except 4th. After sending it in to be built, it was brought to my attention that this is a common issue with high HP applications.
The internals looked pristine apart from the input shaft after 6+ years of abuse. A simple modification with an external pump can fix this. I will be adding a small oil cooler for good measure. You will have to find a shop to weld the bung onto the transmission but other than that, this setup would cost you less than 300 pounds.
It's got a integral bell housing, more over it has a internal oil pump for oil cooler, and in/outlet connectors. For now I'm
going to make a link pipe pending possible cooler at a later date. I wonder if the return feed delivers oil as above ????
(bigger question I've yet to find out is whether it actually fits ! )....and something else I never realised, it has to have Dexron 6 oil.....
I would have used dexron 3 as per old box had I not checked. Apparently dexron 6 is backwards compatible with dexron 3
