going to have to cancel meet this weekend for me at least - just lost control on black ice and went sideways into a tree - car is fecked!!! Less than 20 miles an hour cutting across a road into a side lane - not even turning a corner, front wheels went as soon as they hit side road -back end snapped right round in response and from then on was a passenger for the next 30 yards trying to get it out the skid but hadnt a hope in hell of doing anything with it, ended up in tree facing other way.Looks like drivers door and front wing took worst of it -well that and soon my no claims. At least I was able to drive it home for now. Why the hell couldnt it have been a road with a kerbstone - I'd simply have bounced off that with minimal fuss or damage. Will post pictures tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your accident Bob. Just slipped all the way down to work this morning but I was on foot and glad of it as there is a covering of black ice. Hope you get sorted with your insurance.

Jeff.

I'm fine, airbags didnt even go off but the car took a mighty whack. For all the tree huggers out there dont worry its fine :-). Got the photos now to phone insurance and try find someone that can do a half decent repair job. Will post photos later when dealt with insurance.

Sorry to hear about your accident.
As per previous thread - I stuffed my car last Thursday on a sheep.

Needed a new front end. - Got car back this afternoon.Looks great.

Didn't go through insurance due to fact that £500 xs and extra it would put on in next couple of years.

Came in cheaper than quoted (shock) @2k inc vat. That included a new style bonnet, bumper, grill, light set etc...........so could have been much worse!

Might be worth getting an estimate if the damage is only cosmetic?

These tracker systems are great - my car had been picked up on transporter and was on its way to garage when approx 3 mins later I got phonecall asking if I knew my car was moving without the engine on! If it had been nicked thats the kinda fast response I'd want.
