Definatley good fun. It can also get expensive though, when you want to go faster. VERY Expensive lol.

Post your times, but as stated, terminal speeds are more important for estimating power.
Quick times are largely down to traction, followed by power. Terminal speeds are virtually all power.

i just want one
A Dyno is in reality nothing more than a tuning tool, it's on the track and road where it really matters so I agree we need some 1/4 mile numbers to sort the men from the boys!
Well its obvious, the people with the rip shifters will win....

errrr no actually! The people who know how to drive and get it off the line will win. If you can't launch it, the rip shifter is gonna make sod all difference. Even if it did, I'd have thought the main difference it would make would be to reduce the chance of missing a gear, it's not going to make much difference to your times.

LSV were having their Dyno serviced before Xmas so I'll have to be patient for print outs in the NY. Car is quite exciting in this weather, what I love is that it no longer barrels sideways when traction breaks so when it spins in 4th, just ease off the gas a tadge and re-apply full power. It seems to be quicker now than when delivered, all in all its sorted and drives very well and whilst it is somewhat noisey it is a tadge quieter & refined now being in tune. Waiting for some better weather & foreign roads before I explore 6th gear...

[qoute]How about some nice 1/4 mile track numbers, that will sort everyone out.
Hey an offical hsv/holden/monaro track day anyone? [/qoute]

Why not join SRS? One rule racing against other V8s. Its a great series and easy to join. So far only seen one Ute in it.....

Dates for next year:
Test and Tune/RWYB - Santa Pod Sunday March 19th (no points)
1. Muscle Car Mania - Shakespeare Raceway - Sunday April 16th (Easter)
2. ACW Nationals - Shakespeare Raceway - Sat/Sun May 13/14th
3. Mopar Nationals - Santa Pod - 28-30th July
4. Muscle Car Challenge - Santa Pod - Sunday, Sept 3rd (to be confirmed)

I'd love to do that. Any chance of moving a few rounds over to Northern Ireland. I'd compete in them all then lol. It'd be too difficult and costly for me to get over to every round, as much as I'd really like to try.

I already have a few. I love it

Roll on next year.

Dont mean to keep plugging SRS but your Granada would be very welcome to the series. Its typical of the kind of entry.

Hi Will.

No retune - my feeling is that it could have been a HT lead that needed replacement. One of the HT leads "broke" when the compression check was being done, so that was replaced and then the dyno run carried out. I subsequently noticed that the car pulls away more easily from rest - prior to this it had a tendency to bog down when letting the clutch out in first but now it doesn't.... I guess a flaky lead could have been losing a few bhp.. Or perhaps doing a dyno run in January as opposed to August hence colder air? I'll check the sheets to see how the ambient temp compares..

I was very pleased to get the "all clear" on the compression and leakdown test. So hopefully I can now stop worrying about knock damage.

Interesting... what were the symptoms? Misfires under load or something?

PS re bhp - you could always raise your boost a little

Hi Greg, no power when hammered, lift of the juice and it was fine, just had the feeling I could not 'gun' it, replace leads & all back to normal plus more power
