Hello again what a fun filled 2.5 days ownership!!, have a concern that something not quite right with GTS-R No9 handling just got of phone with sjc and its new one on him ,so here goes. Tight right turns slow speed or slightly faster eg on roundabouts etc car feels very nervous/loose on the arse end yet round left hand tight bends / junctions all ok checked tyre pressures etc everything ok I could see was very surprised this morning when went to park and turned tight to go down next lane of spaces and back slide right out!!! repeated exercise turning left but no problems (its not led foot syndrome)
Any ideas appreciated

Have a look at the rear ride heights. Get the car on to a flat surface & measure from the centre cap to the arch on both sides and see if there are any differences. If there is a difference then this could point to suspension problems.

Hi, I always thought this a standard "feature" on RWD cars due to the diff & propshaft. Something to do with the rotatational force winding up the back axle hence it only works when you turn one way as the inside wheel on the corner lifts slightly, moreso on right hand turns.......

Yep, ever seen drag cars raised off the road and twisted.. Same thing I imagine, torque is twisting the car into the ground on one side and off the ground on the other.
Suspension mods like antiroll bars etc can help by transferring the weight to the other side under these conditions. The VXR and HSV's have uprated bars from stock.
Check out whiteline performance for a full handling kit

Try looking at Tracking (front to rear, and rear on its own).

I've got a VX GTS 300 (GTS-R in the UK) and had no problems, i.e. I get the arse out in both directions...no seriously, i've had no problems in either direction, car grips with tenacity until heavily provoked. VX had a revision of the rear end over the VT2, but not that much that you would notice until absolute goonery.

Any good tyre shop will laser align all 4 wheels and its only £45 if they have to adjust....

Here's the specs I got from Jagsy a while ago;

Front settings
Toe-in Degrees total 0o10’ + 0o 10’
Degrees per wheel 0o05’ + 0o 5’
Camber - 0o30’ + 0o 20’
Caster 7o45’ + 1o 15’

• The toe-in specification is deliberately quoted as an angle because whenever possible toe-in should be measured in degrees.

Rear alignment info:
Full fuel, no luggage or people in the car
Rear toe 0+1mm = 0o0’ + 0o 10’
Camber -1o30’ to -2o 30’
Torque settings 65+5Nm

Cheers

Eric
