Is the factory 2005 VXR alarm Cat1? if so, Thatcham approved? My old insurer didn't care, (but had to have a tracker). New one insists on Cat1.(but saving me £370 quid!).

No it's not Thacham approved
However...Sainsbury insurance dont require it or the tracker either, but adding both did reduce premium and the good thing is that I got Vauxhall to pay for them both...
