Some advice needed please

I have a pal who has just got back to the UK after a couple of years in Oz. He owns a (HSV?) Maloo 2003 V8 truck which is still in Oz. What does he have to do to import it to this country? Hes been told by a couple of folk that it aint possible but that sounds like cr*p to me. I thought there was a thing called SVA for imports. Does anyone know about this stuff and how much it costs? He can get it shipped for buttons, just the registration etc that he has to worry about. That'll be another member here !!!
