BO55 VXR? Need proof of UK HSV drivers club membership for my insurer, (Adrian Flux) Apologies for my ignorance, not sure who the site ed' is. Got a blinding deal from them,(less than half the cost of my first year in the VXR with Tesco!) Are you able to e-mail them or something? think you did this for another guy not too long ago.
Thanks.

BTW: What was the deal, do you have (declared) upgrades?

I used to be with them for my Vette and if the deal is good, might go back when I renew

Thanks for the (previous post) info' and sorry for the confusion. I'm sure Paul will spot the post and set me straight. Don't have any mods, (yet,....Wortec esential pack Mmmmm!) but they would accept the standard fitment alarm despite me asking two different people and assuring, them that it wasn't specifically approved by Thatcham. Tho' did mention the alarm/immobiliser spec and I have a tracker and also mentioned the HSV "Data Dot" system. They seemed very happy with that. Also seemed to carry some weight that I'm a member of this site, but don't know how much discount it ammounts to.
....And the magic number?...464-00!! (That's 39 yrs old with full no-claims in the Lymington area with one SP30. FANTASTIC!! in fact, I think that's less than my 2.3 ltr pick up!

Yeah, but it does really depend on age, (sorry!), your area and a zillion other things. To put it in perspective, just tried "Elephant" out of interest,...705 quid! The next cheapest for me was Norwich Union Direct at about 550 ish but that was dependent on a Thatcham approved alarm. Cheapest without Thatcham alarm was Sainsbury's 740 quid.
(Er...sorry 'bout the lack of pound signs, had to reinstall my hard drive, now don't have one on my keyboard!.....eh?.)

Nige,

Don't know how you managed such a good deal with Elephant. I got a quote from them of around £700 like skyblue465....that's for Mrs Rocket and myself, mid-30s with clean licences, just down the road from you! Dunno how these insurance companies work.

Other considerations are useage, mileage, what job you do, use of other cars etc

Mines with Adrian Flux, just over £400 quid fully comp. I have 11 years no claims but am 30yrs old. Definately worth giving them a buzz for you younger guys. Never heard anyone having to claim with them tho so not sure how good they are when it comes to the crunch!!!

Sometimes it pays to be an old fart.
