Have a word with LSV. I know that Mark changed the camber etc. settings on V8 HSV, very impressive results according to Will.

Nige, i can confirm that as superflex agents we keep these in stock and can fit them too.

What are you hoping to achieve? For a purely road going car and a resonable tyre life the factory specs are pretty good. If you want ultimate handling then yes, they may be of use.

Sorry signed in under the wrong name, should have been Monkfish1.

Thanks Roger

I was just trawling e-bay and saw the kit and then wondered if there was an inherent weakness?
My car only has 5k up and is probably still all new & tight & lovely.
From the sounds of things it wouldn't benefit me overly to go down this route at present unless I start doing many trackdays in it?

cheers

If you have an ageing car (not a Monaro) it is worth noting that it might not be that easy to fit as when I had all the bushes replaced it took days as opposed to hours to dismantle the suspension with corrosion etc.

Is this kit likely to increase tyre life? Factory spec settings on the Monaro seems to wear the front tyres out very quickly - quicker than the rears! I only got 15k miles out of my front tyres - the inner edge wears out first. Isn't an isolated case, lots of Monaro owners seem to have this problem. Do the HSV saloons have this tyre wear problem too - I believe the geometry settings are the same.

[edit] just read the product details - says it will cure the tyre wear problem. Any owners fitted this kit and confirm tyre life is increased?

Hi,

This is my first post here - just about to try and trade my Hyundai v6 coupe (modded) to a facelift Monaro (VZ).

I have been reading quite a bit in the US forum re the passenger (their drivers) stripping the inner tread - obviously, I hope my new one would not. The ebay posting says rear kit so how can they help front tyres ??

I always drive my coupe nice, so does that mean I will suffer from this tyre wear if I drive the Monaro the same way ??

Cheers
Steven

p.s My Coupe was at the Donny North and Modified Nationals last year on the Coupe stand. This year it looks like my Monaro will be at the Modified Nationals but probably stock !!

Paul, the kit in question is for the rear of the car. The older cars such as the HSV GTS and nearly all utes do not have the rear toe adjusting link.

The toe adjusting link, whilst primarily for adjusting toe, also helps to control excess camber when the car is laden or lowered. The older cars do not have this link which, with this design of trailing arm suspension, when laden or lowered leads to excess camber and toe out with the inevitable effect on tyre life.

Installing this kit (2 off)on the older cars allows full adjustability of toe and camber, niether of which was previously adjustable. For most road going monaros, this kit generally isn't necessary.

I still belive that my comments on an earlier thread re tracking etc will cure your problem with front tyre wear.

Hi Chaps,

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, sorry I can't afford a VXR except secondhand (noticed a nice one for £28k 6L on autotrader last night though - but down south).

I am eyeing up an Odessey coloured one in Slater's Colwyn Bay (nearest as I live in Rochdale, near Manchester). Plan is try and trade in my coupe for the model and see what happens. My coupe is a little modded (intake and catback exhaust + shifter etc) but only 15K miles on the clock and mint.

Fingers crossed I will not have the tire wear problem.

Thanks
Steven
