How do I import an Avalanche

Hi all,
I have a friend here in Australia who owns a VZ HSV Avalanche, 270kW 5.7L V8.

He is being posted to the UK - is it possible to import this car into the UK and how does he get it converted so that he can register it there?

If it is possible, how much will it cost typically?

Best if he has owned it for a while (I think 6 months+) has reciepts for insurance etc.
All he needs to do is get an MOT/Warrant of Fitness (means speedo needs to read miles and have a rear fog light fitted, which while totally pointless is required)
Maybe some paperwork and the registration fee.

Alternately he can drive it I think for up to 2 years as a visitor. If you do a search on here there is plenty of info.
FWIW there was one for sale here a few months ago, so his wont be the only one on the UK roads.

I have just done this myself the cost will be about 730 pounds there is only a couple of things you need to get done to it as ringram said you need speedo to read miles, rear foglight that is pretty much it you can drive it here for months without this and you will be able to get insurance for it on your vin number so dont be to worried about it at this stage. I used SEAWAY to get mine brought over they have been fantastic it will take about 5 - 6 weeks to arrive also if he has just brought it and wants to import it straight away he will have to pay import and export tax if he wants to give me a call i will be happy to help. 07886759031
